SORT:
1 Applicant

A family that has applied for admission to a program, but is not yet a participant in the program.

2 Elderly Person

A person who is at least 62 years old.

3 Family Self-Sufficiency Program

The program established by Housing Works to promote self-sufficiency of assisted families, including the provision of supportive services.

4 Housing Assistance Payment

The monthly assistance payment by Housing Works.

5 Housing Quality Standards

The HUD minimum quality standards for housing assisted under the tenant-based programs.

6 Income

Income from all sources of each member of the household as determined in accordance with criteria establised by HUD.

7 Landlord

Either the owner of the property or his/her representative or the managing agent or his/her representative, as shall be designated by the owner.

8 Low-Income Family

A family whose annual income does not exceed 80 percent of the median income for the area, as determined by HUD, with adjustments for smaller and larger families.

9 Participant

A family that has been admitted to a Housing Works program and is currently assisted in the program.

10 Tenant

The person or persons (other than a live-in-aide) who executes the lease as lessee of the dwelling unit.
