Promoting employment that will lead to economic independence and
self-sufficiency, the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program focuses on the
family’s determination, motivation, written goals, and their decision to
make a change.
Families participating in the Housing Choice Voucher program voluntarily enter
into a partnership with Housing Works. They work with community service agencies,
schools, businesses, and other local partners to develop an action plan to achieve
their personal goals. The action plan guides the participating FSS family members
in acquiring the knowledge, skills and experience they need to enable them to
obtain employment that pays a living wage.
Our staff, administration, and Board of Commissioners salute FSS graduates and
current program participants. Through their hard work and commitment to reach
their goals, these individuals have and will reach their goals. We are privileged
to be involved in their success.
