the GATEWAY center

Gateway Center is a door way through which an individual can gain access resources and services aimed at enhancing their ability to secure and succeed in better employment opportunities; and to open the doorway to new skills and lifestyles. The Center is open to all the people in Central Oregon who are receiving assistance through Housing Works' programs and affordable housing communities and to the clients of community partners.

A One Stop Shop for Success

Gateway Center is a boutique—a "one-stop shop"— for people to find the resources and access the services they might need to assist them in taking that next step to better employment opportunities and eventually off all public assistance. The Center includes:

    * A Retail Shop — Access to business and workforce appropriate clothing and one-on-one counseling on how to dress for the job you have and the job you want

    * A “New You” Area — Access to make-overs, i.e. hair, makeup, manicures, and personal care on a budget

    * An Employment Opportunity & Skills Area — For access to computers and printers; resume software and examples, sample cover letters; access to Employment Department and job postings; skills classes on completing applications, interviewing, personal marketing; and referrals to training, skills enhancement, internships, etc.

    * A Resource & Services Information Center — For contact information and brochures on area service providers; and day care information for children such as private providers, Boys & Girls Clubs, etc.

Partners in Success

Partnerships with local services providers are established to provide the best possible resources to your success. Community partners in this effort include the Women's Resource Center, the Soroptimists International of Redmond, the Oregon Department of Employment, along with many local stores and businesses.

Gateway Center is located at 2445 SW Canal Blvd in Redmond, Oregon. For hours or for more information on Gateway Center, contact our Resident Services Manager at 541-923-1018.
